We kick off our annual Christmas social project focused on helping communities surrounding the imperial city of Cusco and the Sacred Valley. We journeyed towards the community of Pacchanta, located within the district of Ocongate (home to Ausangate Mountain). This quaint and isolated community is home to about 400 people or so. Orange Cares was able to complete this project successfully with the help of its dedicated team members!
We usually have a traditional “Chocolatada navideña” or a Christmas party with hot chocolate being the main theme. We also provide “Paneton” or a Peruvian style fruit cake. These foods are considered the main staples during Christmas everywhere within the country. It is quite a delicious treat especially for the children living in this community as they rarely get to taste these treats at times.
We always try to spread Christmas cheer to many communities throughout our Christmas social projects every year (past communities, we have been to included: Huacawasi and Kiswaran). We always organize our trips months in advance and are committed to helping these communities and creating a better sense of social awareness through these projects!
We consider the children in these communities special due to their living conditions. They required a bit of holiday cheer as most have never had the opportunity to own a toy or even meet Santa Claus or “Papa Noel”. We are always accepting donations for this event or even volunteers that would like to take part of these social projects (please email us at: info@samtravelperu.com for more details).
We at, Orange Cares, hope that anyone willing to participate or give donations for our social projects spread the word to help our social projects grow!
